Grand Central Birmingham

3 year public art commission central Birmingham

“All Change”

Standing proud in the centre of Birmingham is the Hill Street Project for Grand Central Station, Birmingham. A collection of commissioned public art pieces from my good friends Zoot, Remi Rough, Juice 126 and Julian Kimmings and of course, my good self.

Each image is 24 foot long and the pieces span this high profile part of the city with thousands passing by each day.

My piece; ‘All Change’ was created at the old Curzon Street station, a poignant location as one of the first stations in Birmingham, the streak of light running through the image is a train on it’s way into New Street. The form itself reminiscant of the plume of steam from a steam engine and the new curved and mirrored facia of the new look New Street Station.

The water acts as a mirror blending these new and old elements of the city together as one.
