For me, it’s about creating something extraordinary from the ordinary.

Taking often familiar spaces and through site specific responses making something new.

…carving something from nothing and creating an image that allows the viewer to suspend their reality, even if it’s just for a moment, to witness the magic of a spectacle that although real, never really happened.

Primarily I make the work for myself however it’s extremely rewarding that ‘Wow’ is the word most commonly used when people see my work - high praise indeed in this day and age!

The light painting images are all made in camera, the images are real and what you see, is what I shoot.

I predominantly focus on making still images but I also work with the moving image, sculpture and site-specific installations.

Who is Sola? Sola is the alter ego of photographer Peter Medlicott who, for almost 20 years has created gallery, editorial and commercial commissions for some of the world’s biggest brands and publications including Ford, Nike, Lenovo and many more with sold out exhibitions in Munich and London.
